RaboDirect Tour de Picnic 2016 launches their selfie competition to get participants training for Electric Picnic 2016


The folks behind  RaboDirect Tour de Picnic are encouraging Picnickers to get training using their hashtag #rabotourdepicnic. So get on your bike or hit the tarmac and take a selfie while you’re at it!

RaboDirect Tour de Picnic has launched a selfie competition where competitors in the sold out run or 80km cycle, limited spaces available, can win a wheelbarrow full of festival supplies worth €350 waiting for you at the finish line, courtesy of RaboDirect. Simply take a selfie of yourself while out training and tag the pictures using #RaboTourDePicnic and upload them to Instagram, Facebook or Twitter.


Each month there will be a different theme; June – rural, July – urban and August – steep. So get training and entering!


This year RaboDirect Tour de Picnic will be collaborating with three worthy charities; Headway, The Jack & Jill Foundation and the ISPCC. Launched in 2009 with just 30 cyclists taking part, the event has now grown in size and with the addition of the run the RaboDirect Tour de Picnic has raised over €1.3 million for various children's charities. Sign up for the 80km cycle and secure your ticket for this year's festival while raising money for these very worthy causes. All participants must raise a minimum of €380 by August 1st.

#RaboTourDePicnic Selfie a Month Competition 2016


  • These terms and conditions apply to the RaboDirect Tour de Picnic Selfie a Month competition promoted by RaboDirect and Tour de Picnic.

  • This competition is only open to those who are signed up to the RaboDirect Tour de Picnic 2016.

  • To enter this competition entrants must take selfies (photo and video accepted) while training for the RaboDirect Tour de Picnic and upload them to #RaboTourDePicnic or @tourdepicnic.

  • The competition offers entrants the chance to win a wheelbarrow of Electric Picnic goodies worth €350 courtesy of RaboDirect every month from June to August 2016.

  • One winner will be announced every month (June – Aug) via Facebook and email and will receive their wheelbarrow on arrival at Stradbally on September 2nd.

  • There will be a selfie theme every month in the lead up to the event which will be:

    o June – Rural

    o July – Urban

    o August - Steep

  • Entrants are not obliged to enter the competition every month.

  • Entrants must be aged 18 years and over.

  • RaboDirect Tour de Picnic encourage participants to only take selfies when it is safe to do so.

  • All selfies will be reviewed by RaboDirect Tour De Picnic, any photos deemed unacceptable will be removed and entrants will be unable to participate in the RaboDirect Tour de Picnic 2016.

  • Closing date and time for the monthly competitions is 23:59 on the last day of each month June to August 2016.

  • Winner of each monthly competition will be announced in the first two weeks of the following month.

  • Only those who completed all the requested details asked of them on the competition Facebook page and www.electricpicnic.ie/news/rabodirect-tour-de-picnic-selfie- competition will be entered into the competition draw.

  • By entering this competition entrants agree to be bound by these terms and conditions and by any other requirements set out in any related promotional materials.

  • If a winner is announced and RaboDirect Tour De Picnic discovers, for any reason, that the winner was ineligible to enter this competition draw or that the entry should have been declared invalid, RaboDirect Tour De Picnic reserves the right to disqualify that winner. The decision in relation to this competition is final and binding on all applicants.

  • RaboDirect Tour De Picnic shall conduct the competition, and the decision on any matter related to the competition, including the selection of prize winners is final and no correspondence will be entered into.

  • Winners grant RaboDirect Tour De Picnic and RaboDirect the right to use and publish their name, hometown and likeness in such media as may be chosen (including but not limited to the internet) for advertising and promotional purposes without additional consideration and winners agree to participate and take part in such related promotional activities as may be required and agree to any publicity pictures and video being taken as events may be recorded.

  • RaboDirect Tour de Picnic reserves the right to amend, withdraw or terminate the promotion or any competition draws, or amend these terms and conditions, without notice at their discretion.

  • Entrants are obliged to seek consent from any third party who is captured and clearly identifiable within the selfie.

  • There will be no cash alternatives available in lieu of any prize or any element of the prize.

  • This competition draw is not open to staff of RaboDirect.

  • Entry to the promotion implies acceptance of these terms and conditions.
